"You are equally made of the many opportunities you lost,"Rasool Pookkutty.
In a discussion with Manjusha Radhakrishnan, renowned sound designer and Academy Award winner, Resul Pookkutty, opened up about his journey, emphasising the setbacks he had. "You are equally made of the many opportunities you lost," he remarked, sharing instances of rejection that ultimately shaped his success.
"Being ambitious is others` perspective, not mine." He credited his success to inspiration drawn from people around him.
Addressing his latest project, Adujeevitham, Pookutty expressed concerns about audience disappointment. He stated that the story in its cinema form is the artistic interpretation of director Blessy. Commenting on the evolving landscape of cinema, Pookutty challenged the notion that states cinema as a contentless art, asserting that it in fact is a subjective art. He emphasized the freedom inherent in literature, contrasting the concretised nature of film. Pookutty predicted Malayalam cinema`s potential to surpass even Iranian cinema within a decade. However, he criticised the quality of Malayalam films from 1990 to 2010. Shifting to technology, Pookutty shared a positive perspective on Artificial Intelligence (AI). "If you look at AI from an efficiency point of view, it is the best tool. We shouldn`t fear AI because what is inherent in us is humaneness. Technology is a tool. Expression will remain what ever the tool is," he stated, expressing support for the integration of AI and technology in the creative process.
