An interesting discussion on the topic ‘when the story intervenes into history’ was held at session in Kerala Literature Fest. The discussion was joined by K. P Ramanunni Aymanam John, Ambikasuthan Mangad, K.V Mohan Kumar, Unni R and moderator Isaac Eapen.
Session started with the moderator who pointed out the topic again and told his view points on the topic. He said that “the story is a product of history, whatever the history wanted was produced by the story”. He then welcomed the personalities on the panel and audience. He then quoted Vaikom Mohammed Basheer that “I am a writing soldier”.
K.V Mohankumar says that story is not intervening into history but history is intervening to history. Story is being a subject to the history and then the moderator asks Unni R’s views on the topic to which he said that ‘writer is being intervened’, writing is not something to be intervened’.
Then there was an interactive session at which the first question was raised to Unni R which was “Your stories are adventurous so what is your opinion about being politically straightforward? “ To which he replied that it is one’s freedom to be political and not being political. Story is like moving the blocks and it depends upon you.
