The Kerala Literature Festival 2016 (KLF) was a resounding success at the beach in Kozhikode. As a result, the organizing committee of “KOTTAYAM PEX 2016” (District Philatelic Exhibition) will be releasing a special cover on the theme of Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) on 5th October, 2016 at the K C Mammen Mappillai Hall in Kottayam.
The 2 day event to be held at Kottayam promises to be a feast for philatelists and showcase a collection of rare postal stamps and philately ancillaries. The launch of the special cover on the theme of Kerala Literature Festival 2017 (KLF) will be conducted by 1:30 pm on 5th October, 2016. The event will be inaugurated by Shri Jose K Mani, Honorable Member of Parliament on 4th October, 2016. Smt Sumathi Ravichandran ( Post Master General, Central Region, Kochi), Shri Alexin George ( Chairman, Organizing Committee, KOTTAYAM PEX 2016 & SSP) will grace the event. Shri Joshy Philip (President, District Panchayat, Kottayam) and Dr. Sona P.R. ( Chairperson, Kottayam Municipality ) alongwith Prof. George John Nidhiry ( President, Kottayam Philatelic and Numismatic Society ) will be providing felicitations at the event.
The Kerala Literature Festival 2016 (KLF), was a grand debut festival for literary lovers the state over. The festival was graced by over 150 writers of both national and international stature. Stalwarts such as Ashok Vajpeyi, Gita Hariharan, Pratibha Ray along with M T Vasudevan Nair, Zachariah and Anand enthralled the audiences over the four day event. The events were conducted across four different venues aesthetically done at the beach in Kozhikode. Cultural evenings by maestros such as T M Krishna and Mattanur Sankarankutty Marar added color and zeal to the festival.
The second edition of the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) promises to be an even grander event with many more luminaries from the literary world taking part. The second edition is to be held from 2nd February, 2017 to 5th February, 2017 at the beach in Kozhikode.
